As it's been a year or so since I've got off my chuff and written anything (despite what the blogspot site may suggest) I thought I should reiterate what I'm planing to do here - my raison d'ĂȘtre if you will.
Oddly the spell check coped with d'ĂȘtre but not raison.
That brings up a first and most important point. Im not going to hide my deficiencies from you. My spelling is rubbish. I award points for corrections. Go forth and proof read.
Now back to our earlier scheduled program. I won't appologise for my meandering thought patterns, that would take up far too long. My off topic is usually bigger than my on topic and frequently more interesting. Which is not exactly selling my on topic right now...
Ok, as I was saying, this is a blog without a set genre. It won't all be about food, allthough some of it will be. I'm not really much of a see it, bake it, write about it kind of a blogger. I'm a bit lazy for that in my spare time I'm afraid. I'm more the "write about it with no actual basis in the facts" type. And I welcome fedback as long as you welcome my feedback on your feedback which seems fair. To me at least. And it is my blog.
This is basically an outlet for some of my thoughts so the nice people of dubious judgement who are my friends dont have to put up with me and my endless monologues. Well just the monologues really, by definition my friends do still have to put up with me. I'm sure i mentioned poor judgement.
So aside from the food there will be some random musings, a little infotainment and some complaining about the world today and how it isn't the same as when I was a boy. Not that I ever was a boy but I do feel sometimes as though there is a very disgruntled little old man living in my soul. Let's call him Harrold. I'm afraid he has an ugly head which he likes to rear.
I believe I may be off topic ish again. At least I would be if I had anything of value left to say. Or indeed anything at all. Phew.
From the Debbie that brought you Debbie does Edmonds comes DANCES WITH KUMARA. Ingredients: Random Musings. May not contain actual dancing or kumara. Certified 100% Kevin Costner free.

About Me
- Debbie
- I once made the mistake of cooking the entire 1966 Edmonds cookbook in a year. Now I blog from the safety of the couch. I live in New Zealand, a tiny (well relatively small compared to, say, Russia) cluster of Islands in the South Pacific. It's a verdant, smog free (except for Christchurch), sheepish, laidback kind of a place. I've lived at both ends of the country so I feel entitled to make jokes at the expense of both the Aucklanders (the "big city" where most of us Kiwi's live) and the Mainlanders (the folk who live in the south of the country which is rather more dramatic of aspect, devoid of population). A kumara, for those who aren't aware, is the Maori (the native peoples of NZ)word for sweet potato - generally refering to the purple/red skinned variety with yellow flesh. Kiwi's love kumara. If you dance with one you will probably need to lead. I am by training and past experiance a food scientist and by profession a food marketer, two professions blamed for messing with the nations food. I'd like to give a little something back to the food by letting it mess me up a bit. This is a collection of random musings about food and life in general.
